Joytich ("Joytich," "we," "us," or "our") operates joytich.com, a book review platform where readers can browse reviews and registered reviewers can publish their own. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

  • Account information. If you sign up to comment or become a reviewer, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed password. Reviewers may optionally add a bio and avatar image.
  • Content you submit. Reviews, comments, and replies you publish on Joytich, along with timestamps and moderation status.
  • Usage data.Aggregate page views on reviews, used to power features like "Trending Reviews." We do not use invasive analytics or tracking pixels.
  • Cookies. A session cookie to keep you signed in, and a local preference for light/dark theme. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

How we use your information

  • To operate your account and let you sign in securely.
  • To publish and display the reviews and comments you submit.
  • To moderate content and enforce our Terms of Service.
  • To communicate with you about your account, such as password resets.

Third-party links and services

Book cover images may be sourced from Open Library. Purchase links on review pages (for example, to Amazon or independent bookstores) may be affiliate links — if you buy a book through one of these links, Joytich may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party sites.

Data retention and deletion

We retain account and content data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by contacting us below; published reviews may be anonymized rather than removed outright to preserve the integrity of existing discussions.

Children's privacy

Joytich is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above.
